U.S. Bank Direct Deposit

Direct Deposit is a free service that automatically deposits paychecks or other recurring income into the checking or savings account of your choice.

Setting up Direct Deposit
Getting direct deposit set up is easy! Depending on the account you choose to have directly deposited, you'll need to do the following:

  • Payroll Check - To set up a payroll check for direct deposit, gather your account information. You'll need to provide the type of account (checking or savings), account number and routing number (RTN). Then complete your company's direct deposit form or print the U.S. Bank EZ Switch Direct Deposit form (pdf). Return the completed form to your company representative for processing.
  • Social Security Checks - To set up a Social Security check for direct deposit, call the Go Direct help line at 800-333-1795 or visit GoDirect.org to sign up online. You can also visit your local U.S. Bank branch or Social Security Administration office to sign up.

Direct Deposit Benefits

  • Once your direct deposit has been active for two months, you may be eligible for our Checking Account Advance service. When unexpected expenses happen, you can take an advance against your direct deposit to get cash fast and when you need it most.
  • Whether you're on vacation or out of town, your money is available on the day of deposit. It's there, ready for you to use - no running around, no hassles, no worrying.
